Evil Exists and Lacey and Larkin are Fighting it

I remember the day that my son came to me with a news article in his hand and said, “Daddy I want to be like these men.” Immediately I read the article and noticed the names of people that I also respect called Michael Lacey and Jim Larkin.

The reason I respect these two is that they have stood up against a man who is down right in his heart evil and even though they paid the price, they were able to come out on top in the end.

Michael and Jim began reporting on the atrocities committed by the police force under the guidance of Sheriff Joe Arpaio.

They showed how Sheriff Arpaio routinely encouraged racism in his police force. One way that racism was encouraged was by using these jail cells that would always fail health inspection codes. Sheriff Arpaio never had any intentions of fixing these up because they were reserved for the Hispanic disease that you saw through Arizona. He threw the Hispanics into these cells so that they would get ill and come down with a disease and then underneath Arizona law he would deny them the right to receive medical attention. Dozens of Hispanics died this way.

The worst case occurred with a woman who was carrying her baby for eight months. She demanded to have medical attention, and of course, Arpaio refused. This resulted in the death of her baby and then she was denied the right even to see it. Read more: Michael Lacey | Twitter

Michael Lacey and Jim Larkin also reported how Sheriff Arpaio had systematically gone to the Maricopa County Police Department and restocked it with officers who are known for their brutality towards Hispanics.

He then rewarded these police officers with money in the form of bonuses if they brought the Hispanics in beaten and battered.

When Michael Lacey and Jim Larkin made theses atrocities public knowledge, Sheriff Joe Arpaio decided to retaliate against them. He rounded up his little fascist squad and went to the homes of these two brave men in the cover of darkness with an illegally obtained warrant.

He burst into their house in the middle of the night and demanded the evidence. When they refused they were hauled off to jail. However, this illegal detention would result in the formation of the Lacey and Larkin Frontera fund after the men sued the Maricopa County for $3.75 million.
